To gain entry to our WhatsApp community, rides and events organised by Piano Piano Cycling Club, we require you to agree to the groups terms, conditions & ethics.

I hereby acknowledge that I am voluntarily participating in cycling rides organised by the Piano Piano Cycling Club. I understand that cycling, as with any physical activity, carries inherent risks, including but not limited to the risk of injury. By participating in Piano Piano rides, I voluntarily assume all risks associated with such participation, including, but not limited to, falls, contact with other participants, contact and eventual crashes with third-party or general public, the effects of the weather, including high heat and/or humidity, traffic, and the condition of the road and pavement.

I am aged 18 or over. 

I understand Piano Piano is a welcoming space, open to all and all participants should behave accordingly. It has a zero-tolerance policy to offensive or inappropriate behaviour at all events, including, but not limited to, intimidation, verbal abuse, physical violence, sexual/physical/verbal harassment and disrespectful behaviour. Piano Piano reserves the right to impose appropriate penalties for a breach in conduct, which include but are not limited to: temporary/permanent suspension from Piano Piano Events or the community entirely. 

I understand that it is my responsibility to ensure that I am physically fit and sufficiently prepared to participate in the rides organised by the Piano Piano Cycling Club. I acknowledge that I should consult with a physician before participating in any physical activity, including cycling, especially if I have any pre-existing medical conditions or injuries.

I agree to abide by all rules and instructions provided by the Piano Piano organisers and representatives.
I understand that the organisers do not provide medical assistance or insurance coverage. In the event of an emergency, I authorise the organisers or other participants to contact emergency services on my behalf if deemed necessary. I accept responsibility for any medical, rescue, or related costs incurred.

I confirm and agree that I will not participate in the cycling activities while under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any medication that may impair my ability to ride safely or affect my judgment, coordination, or reaction time. I acknowledge that participating under such conditions may pose a serious risk to myself and to others. I accept full responsibility for any consequences arising from a breach of this obligation and agree that the organisers shall not be held liable for any resulting loss, damage, or injury.

I acknowledge that it is my responsibility to ensure that I have adequate personal insurance coverage, including third-party liability insurance where applicable and a Cycling Ireland Membership. I understand that the organisers do not provide insurance for participants unless explicitly stated otherwise.

I hereby release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue the Piano Piano, its organisers, representatives, volunteers, sponsors, and affiliated entities from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, and causes of action whatsoever arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury, including death, that may be sustained by me or to any property belonging to me, while participating in Piano Piano rides, whether caused by the negligence of the Piano Piano Cycling Club or otherwise.

I acknowledge that the organisers reserve the right to modify the route, schedule, or cancel the activity at any time due to safety concerns, weather conditions, or other unforeseen circumstances, without assuming any liability as a result.

I understand Piano Piano or any premises offering bag drop facilities (cafes, shops, etc.) take no responsibility for loss, theft or damage for any items I leave at PianoPiano events or rides. I leave my belongings at my own risk.

I agree to comply at all times with all applicable traffic laws, regulations, and local rules while participating in the cycling activities. I undertake to ride in a safe, prudent, and responsible manner, taking into account my own abilities, the conditions of the road, traffic, and the presence of other participants. I acknowledge that failure to do so may result in injury or damage to myself or others, for which I accept full responsibility.

I understand and agree that I am solely responsible for any damage I may cause to public property or to members of the public while participating in Piano Piano rides, and I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Piano Piano Cycling Club, its organisers, representatives, volunteers, sponsors, and affiliated entities from any claims or liabilities arising out of such damage.

By participating in any rides (sponsored or otherwise) organised by the Piano Piano Cycling Club, I confirm that I will use a bicycle that is my own or otherwise lawfully in my possession, which is in safe, roadworthy condition and appropriately maintained. I understand and acknowledge that any failure, defect, or inadequate maintenance of the bicycle may result in injury to myself and/or damage or injury to other participants or third parties. I accept full responsibility for ensuring that my bicycle is fit for use and agree that the organisers shall not be held liable for any loss, damage, or injury arising from the condition or malfunction of my bicycle.

I acknowledge and agree that the use of an approved protective helmet is mandatory for the entire duration of the cycling activity. I further confirm that I am required to carry with me a basic bicycle repair kit, suitable for addressing potential mechanical issues and/or punctures. I understand that I am personally responsible for ensuring that I have adequate food and water supplies for the full duration of the activity. I accept full responsibility for any risks, injury, or inconvenience arising from my failure to comply with these requirements, and I agree that the organisers shall not be liable for any consequences resulting therefrom.

By participating in any rides (sponsored or otherwise) organised by the Piano Piano Cycling Club, I agree to have my personal image used by Piano Piano and the associated sponsor for promotional and marketing purposes.

By accepting these T&Cs, I agree to sign up to the mailing list of Piano Piano. Piano Piano is a data controller of my personal data, and I agree to them upholding my privacy rights, including my right to access my data and to ask for it to be rectified, erased, or its use to be restricted, by complying with all relevant data protection legislation. I understand Piano Piano needs to process the personal data I provide in order to put on the Piano Piano Events.

I understand Piano Piano may amend these T&Cs at any time and will inform me of significant/material changes when they occur. 

I have read this waiver carefully and understand its contents. I am aware that by signing this waiver, I am waiving certain legal rights, including the right to sue the Piano Piano Cycling Club for any injuries or damages sustained during participation in runs organised by the club.
